Rich Woman Torments Poor Man in Parking Garage and Bitterly Regrets It

Kyle West

Kyle West was a homeless man who held steadfast to his principles with all his strength. He refused to beg for money, so he found a bucket, bought a sponge and some soap for just a few dollars, and started washing cars.

He hoped that his hard work would be rewarded. Life had not always been this way. A few years ago, Kyle had been a man with a promising future, working as a loan officer at a major bank.

Kyle's Work

As a loan officer, he had great responsibilities and a high income. But one day, his whole life fell apart. Now he slept wherever he could and washed cars.

He often received some coins or loose change from the pockets of the people whose cars he washed. Life was tough, and it was about to get even tougher—little did he know.

Exclusive Parking Garage

Kyle discovered that he could afford food for several days if he managed to sneak into a more exclusive parking garage. It belonged to New York's most expensive apartment buildings!

The parking garage housed hundreds of luxurious vehicles, each worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some of the owners were always generous when Kyle did his job with sponge and soap.

A Cold Afternoon

After two days without eating, Kyle sneaked into the garage, past the security guards. It was a freezing afternoon, and he set off with his bucket to find work. He saw a man getting into his Jaguar.

Kyle hurried over to him and asked if he could clean his windshield. The man agreed and then threw a handful of coins at Kyle's feet. Kyle knelt down to pick up the coins when one of the security guards approached him.

Against the Rules

"What are you doing here? You can't be here, it's against the rules!" the guard said. Kyle sighed, "I'm sorry, I'm just trying to earn some money so I can afford to eat. I clean cars and won't cause any trouble."

Derek Lloyd felt pity but knew his manager wouldn't tolerate this. A homeless man in this particular garage was not an option. "I'm sorry, but you have to leave here," he said gently.

An Offer

"Please!" Kyle said with a desperate look on his face. "I haven't eaten in two days. I'm not asking for a donation, I just want to earn some money." Derek found it hard to turn down the plea.

"Okay, I'll tell you what, our janitor quit yesterday. How about you clean up here for him until we find a replacement? Sweeping, picking up trash, taking out the full garbage bags, okay?"

He Accepted the Offer

Kyle smiled. "Thank you, man! You saved me!" Kyle worked without a break for the next three hours. He picked up everything that the residents carelessly dropped—papers, cigarette butts, and other trash.

He made sure to do a good job, hoping that he might be allowed to come back the next day. As he was returning one of the trash cans, he heard a woman's voice saying, "Watch where you're going!"

An Unpleasant Interruption

Kyle turned around and saw a thin, beautiful woman standing next to her Mercedes Benz S65. The woman looked angry and said, "You almost scratched my car with the trash can. Are you insane?"

Kyle wasn't anywhere near the car, but he knew that arguing wouldn't be worth it. "I'm sorry," Kyle said with his head lowered, "I assure you, I was far enough away from your car."

Seeking a Fight

"I know what I saw! Do you even have any idea how much my car is worth? More than your miserable life!" the woman screamed. "Miss, are you really comparing your car to a human life?" Kyle asked incredulously.

The answer was shocking: "So you're an arrogant homeless person, then? You're human garbage. Why do you go where there are no decent people to bother?" "I was just doing my job, there's no reason to be so disrespectful," Kyle calmly replied.

The Argument Continued

"I pay a lot of money to live here, and that includes not having to deal with terrible people like you. I'll have to talk to the manager about this, and then we'll see," she said, taking out her phone and dialing a number.

Kyle felt so attacked that he couldn't stand for the argument any longer. He had a lot of work to do and walked away.

More Work to Do

Kyle picked up the trash can and continued working. Shortly after, the woman arrived with another man in tow. The man also seemed furious. "What are you doing here? This is private property!" he scolded loudly.

Kyle greeted him kindly, "Good afternoon. I'm cleaning up here until they find a new janitor..." "This is unacceptable," said the manager, turning to the woman. "Ms. Durbin, I assure you that we don't usually hire criminals!"

Unbelievable Accusations

Now, Kyle couldn't control himself any longer. "Criminal? I'm not a criminal; I'm just trying to stay alive. I may be homeless, but that doesn't mean I steal from anyone. All I wanted was to earn some money here, and you come at me with your accusations."

The manager was furious. He yelled, "Derek! Where the hell are you?" The man who had hired Kyle finally appeared. "You hired this creature to clean up? You should be lucky I don't fire you on the spot!" the manager said. Derek lowered his head, "I'm sorry. Kyle was just looking for some work, and our janitor..."

"I know about that! But we don't hire that kind of people, do you understand me? You take him out now, or you can share a cardboard box to sleep tomorrow. Am I clear?

Kyle Forced to Leave the Parking Garage

Derek gently placed his hand on Kyle's shoulder and said, "Come with me, I'll take you outside." Derek led Kyle to the staircase that led out of the parking garage. "Wait here for a moment, I'll be right back," Derek said.

Derek returned with a cup of coffee and his box filled with food. "Take this - I'm so sorry about all of this..." Kyle shook his head and said, "No, I'm sorry for burdening you with it."

Kyle's Story

Derek sat down beside Kyle and asked, "How did you end up in this situation? What happened to you, man?" Kyle chuckled briefly and then became serious again. "I was one of the top executives at my bank.

One of my colleagues suggested approving a $50 million loan to his friend. After doing some research, I discovered that the man didn't have the means to repay the loan and was trying to scam me!" The story continued.

"And what happened then?" Derek asked curiously. "I rejected the loan and sent an explanation as well. It turned out that my supervisor knew all about it and may have been part of the fraud.

I was fired, and he made sure no one else would hire me, either," Kyle said with tears in his eyes. Derek showed empathy but was also eager to know what happened next for him.

It Only Got Worse...

"My wife left me and took the kids. I sold the house to finance the divorce and my debts. Then, I lived in my car, which I eventually had to sell as well."

Derek shook his head, "I'm so sorry to hear all of this. You've really had a run of bad luck. Listen, eat your lunch, stay here, at least it's warm, and the manager can't get upset here."

Finally, Some Food

"I don't want you to get into further trouble, Derek," Kyle said. "I'll finish eating and then leave." Kyle sat on the staircase, eating Derek's sandwich and enjoying the hot coffee until he suddenly heard a voice.

"It's a Merc S65, man, it's worth $400,000, even more in parts..." Another voice said, "Are you sure she's not here?" The answer was shocking, "My wife is a stupid woman with too much money; she never spends anything, so I think it's okay to take something!"

A Crime

The two young men walked past Kyle without noticing him. One of the men knew the code for the garage, and they walked in. Kyle followed them and waited behind a pillar to avoid being discovered.

One of the young men approached Derek, "Excuse me, a homeless man stole my phone, could I use yours to track it down?" Derek handed them his phone, and they ran off.

Kyle remained calm

Derek left his post, and now the second young man could access the car. Kyle followed him as quietly as he could. The man had an electronic device with him, and Kyle wondered what he was planning to do. Kyle moved closer, the young man noticed him, but it was already too late, Kyle restrained him on the ground.

Derek returned and asked what had happened. When Kyle explained what he had overheard, Derek called the police. Within minutes, they were on the scene, and the owner of the car had returned. "My car! Is everything okay?" she asked. "What are you doing with my nephew? He's the thief!" she pointed at Kyle.

Exposing the Truth

"No, these two young men have been stealing luxury cars multiple times, and now we finally caught them," explained the police officer. "My nephew? My own nephew wanted to steal my car?" she asked in disbelief.

Derek stepped forward, "This man, Kyle, apprehended the boys, Mrs. Durbin. If it weren't for him, the garage would be empty now." The woman turned red. "Thank you," she said quietly towards Kyle. She reached into her purse and took out some cash. However, Kyle refused to accept the money; it didn't feel right to him.

Mrs. Durbin reacted with confusion

The woman furrowed her brow and said, "But you need the money, don't you?" "I don't need a donation; I work for my money," Kyle replied. At that moment, the manager spoke up, "Kyle, how about the janitor position that just became available?

The position even comes with a small apartment - this is not a donation, but real work." Derek also smiled now. Kyle felt delighted, "Thank you very much, I would love to work for you. Thank you!" Mrs. Durbin shook Kyle's hand and apologized to him. And what can you learn from this story?
