Injured Dog Luchik Finds Shelter at Volunteer's House

Luchik, a brave and wounded dog, displayed incredible resilience as it covered multiple kilometers before collapsing near the entrance of a volunteer's house.

Despite a severe neck injury caused by an embedded collar, Luchik managed to continue running for an extended distance. Eventually, the dog reached the doorstep of a residence occupied by passionate volunteers.

Last Saturday, a distressing message reached us: "In Kalinino, a dog has arrived with a collar deeply embedded in its neck, causing profuse bleeding. We attempted to remove the collar but urgently require guidance on how to provide further assistance."

In hopes of reuniting Luchik with its owners, we shared the dog's plight on a local online platform. A glimmer of hope emerged, anticipating that the rightful owners might be searching for their beloved pet. However, fate did not deem this aspiration a reality.

Despite receiving no communication from the dog's owners, a compassionate girl, who had come across our online post, took it upon herself to transport the dog from the settlement to the city and promptly sought veterinary aid. The clinic successfully removed the collar and provided necessary treatment for the animal's well-being.

During the night, the kind-hearted girl offered her own shelter to Luchik. Remarkably, the dog showcased its intelligence by understanding commands and respectfully obeying outdoor bathroom routines, making every effort to minimize inconveniences for its caretakers. Due to the collar-related injury, the dog ventured without a leash but immediately responded to the command to return home, sprinting towards the entrance door.

Shortly after, the girl informed us that her close friend had decided to adopt Luchik, leaving us with a sense of joy and relief from the fortunate turn of events.

Regrettably, our tranquility was short-lived, as on Monday morning, news reached us about a wounded dog found in Lyamino. This dog matched the description of the one rescued from Kalinino. Only a few hours later, a volunteer named Alla contacted us, reporting that she had discovered a dog with a neck wound near one of the entrances to her building. Astonishingly, it was the very same dog that had previously been taken in from Kalinino and had once again exhausted its strength close to the residence of a compassionate volunteer.

The circumstances surrounding the dog's reappearance at this location remain a mystery. How did Luchik manage to traverse numerous kilometers with such a grievous injury? Its presence was noted in various areas almost simultaneously, leaving us without any plausible explanations. Nevertheless, the dog's fortune appeared to accompany it when it found itself near the homes of our dedicated volunteers.

Larisa and Katya promptly discovered Luchik and escorted it to receive immediate veterinary attention. Following effective medical intervention, the dog's condition improved significantly, and a temporary residence was arranged. Luchik was aptly named, showcasing its gentle, intelligent, and affectionate nature, just as the name suggests.

The Remarkable Bond Begins to Blossom
