Heartwarming Tale: Foul-Mouthed Parrot Pepper Finds Love and a Home

In a heartwarming turn of events, a foul-mouthed parrot named Pepper recently found new owners at the Niagara SPCA animal shelter in Niagara Falls, New York. Pepper, a white-fronted Amazon parrot, was surrendered a month ago by a woman who could no longer care for him.

Pepper captured the hearts of many across the country, with over 400 applications pouring in from potential adopters eager to provide him with a loving home. Among the applicants were an eclectic mix, including the owner of Wild Bill's saloon in Texas and a sailor who appreciated Pepper's colorful vocabulary.

After a meticulous review process, a shortlist of 10 suitable candidates was created. The fortunate individual chosen to take Pepper home was Tiffany Turner, a dedicated teacher from Olean, along with her fiancé, Tim Sage. They already shared their home with a grey parrot named Shelby, who seemingly had a similar penchant for speech irregularities as Pepper.

White-fronted Amazon parrots are renowned for their long lifespans, with Pepper at the age of approximately 20 years. Turner and Sage, both 30, have the opportunity to create lasting memories with their new feathered companion. Despite Pepper's reputation for swearing, Turner has only witnessed it once since bringing him home. She shared a touching moment when Pepper excitedly fluffed up his feathers and "danced" upon meeting Turner's mother.

Pepper's journey to finding a forever home began when a compassionate woman brought him and six other parrots to the shelter due to her inability to care for them. The unique abilities of white-fronted Amazons to imitate various sounds were evident, as Pepper's former owner informed shelter volunteers about his colorful language.

As Pepper embarks on a new chapter with Turner and Sage, the director of the Niagara SPCA, Amy Lewis, playfully encouraged his adoption through a humorous Facebook post. Lewis emphasized how Pepper's foul language could deter unwelcome guests, adding a touch of levity to the heartwarming tale.
