Cute Video Owner Designs "Doggie-vator" - A Heartwarming Solution for Her Aging Pugs

Sonya Karimi of New Orleans, United States, has warmed the hearts of millions with her incredible creation - a custom wooden elevator, lovingly dubbed the "Doggie-vator," to assist her aging pugs in navigating the stairs.

Inspired by the challenges faced by Bodhi, her recently adopted pug with a torn ligament, Sonya, an occupational therapist, ingeniously devised the idea for this unique solution.

The operation of the elevator is elegantly simple. Activated by a remote control, it effortlessly carries the dogs up and down in a secure wooden box, complete with a door to prevent any mishaps during the journey. Upon arrival, an easily accessible ramp provides the exit. With a helping hand from her groom's parents, Sonya dedicated approximately three months to bring the labor of love, the "Doggie-vator," to life.

While marveling at the vast array of pet products available today, Sonya was astonished to discover a lack of comparable solutions for the canine populace. She shared her sentiments with the British newspaper the Daily Mail, expressing her motivation to create something unique for her beloved pets. "At work, I saw how useful stair lifts are for people, so I thought we could provide a similar convenience for our dogs," she revealed.

In addition to Bodhi, aged 10, Sonya, who considers herself a devoted "pet mother," also cares for George (13), Sam (10), and Emery (4). Though the wooden elevator was primarily designed with the older pugs in mind, Sonya's younger pup happily partakes in the comfort of the Doggie-vator as well.

Astounded by their adaptability, Sonya remarked, "They quickly adjusted to using the elevator. I initially believed training would be required, but they navigate the contraption as if it has always been part of their lives! Especially the two oldest ones, who now sit and patiently wait for their little ride."

The heartwarming video capturing the delightful experience has captivated numerous viewers, emphasizing the profound bond between humans and their cherished pets. Sonya's act of love and thoughtfulness serves as a reminder that age should never hinder the joy and comfort we offer our furry companions.
