Probably thrown out because he wasn't a good hunter, this dog has been waiting in a shelter for over a year
Despite his good nature, no one seems to want this young pointer, who is nevertheless an adorable companion dog.
With that charming face and tender gaze, it's hard to believe that Pif has been waiting in a kennel for over a year and hasn't captured any hearts.
Abandoned because he was a poor hunter
Very thin and dirty when he was rescued from the outdoors, the young dog was identified but no one ever showed up to claim him. Although registered with the LOF (French Kennel Club), Pif is a magnificent German Pointer that had apparently been well selected by his former owner. But everything suggests that the young animal wasn't the most skilled at hunting, and this flaw was unforgivable.
It's true that if Pif doesn't get along with cats, he doesn't really have the profile of an extreme hunter and would be more suited to a family dog's life. Adorable with humans and sociable with dogs, he has since made a lot of progress in learning some good manners, and the exuberance of his youth seems to be gradually balancing out.
Willingly, Pif has shown that he pulls less on the leash and can channel his excitement by being calmer and quieter. All he needs now is a family willing to continue teaching him how to behave as a companion dog!
A bright future ahead
At just 4 years old, this magnificent pup still has a whole life to write with new owners who won't let him down this time. Despite his troubled past, Pif has demonstrated resilience and a loving nature that would make him the perfect addition to a caring family.
Pif is currently residing at the Nouveau Refuge Spa de Isbos, in the Hautes-Pyrénées (65).
